Parkour
Dog Parkour™ combines elements of human parkour and dog agility to create an accessible activity for dogs and humans alike. In Karen's parkour class, your dog will learn to jump, climb, balance, crawl, and interact in other ways with various objects in your everyday environment. Parkour can be done anywhere by any dog and is limited only by your imagination.
Parkour helps with confidence and overcoming fears, as dogs face new challenges in a positive and rewarding environment. It is a low impact but challenging activity for any canine athlete. You will learn how to shape exciting new behaviors in a way that is both safe and fun for you and your dog.
Karen's parkour classes are based on the rules set by the International Dog Parkour Association, which are aimed at preventing injury and keeping the sport accessible to dogs of all ages and abilities.
Once your dog has gotten the hang of parkour, you can receive a variety of Dog Parkour™ titles from the International Dog Parkour Association. Titles range from training level to expert, and there are also several specialty titles that your dog can earn. To earn a title, you just need to submit videos of your dog successfully completing behaviors, so even reactive dogs who cannot attend a competition can earn their parkour titles!
